The Experiences
What's included in the Snorkeling Trip?
The 3-hour snorkeling trip from Puerto de Mogán includes a coastal cruise along the south of Gran Canaria, a stop at a protected cove with crystal-clear Atlantic waters, all snorkeling equipment, a Spanish lunch on board, and an open bar. Everything is included in the price — just bring yourself and your sense of adventure.
What's included in the Tasting Trip?
The Gourmet Experience combines a 1-hour scenic boat trip along the cliffs and beaches of southern Gran Canaria with a 2-hour dockside tasting of Canarian wines and local products from across the islands. It's the perfect plan for food lovers, couples, and anyone looking for an authentic Canarian experience on the water.
What is the Private Boat Experience?
The Private Boat Experience gives you exclusive use of the Yellow Boat for your group. It's ideal for special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, honeymoons, or corporate events. You can customise the itinerary, duration, and on-board experience with our crew. Find out more here.
How many people are on each trip?
Yellow Boat Mogan operates small-group tours, which means you get a much more personal and authentic experience compared to large tourist boats. If you want the boat entirely for your group, our Private Boat Experience is available for exclusive hire.
How long do the trips last?
The Snorkeling Trip lasts approximately 3 hours. The Gourmet Tasting Experience is around 3 hours in total: 1 hour on the boat and 2 hours of dockside tasting at Puerto de Mogán harbour.
What can I see while snorkeling?
The snorkeling stop takes place in a protected cove on the south coast of Gran Canaria, where the water is calm, warm, and exceptionally clear. You can expect to see a variety of Atlantic marine life including colourful fish and sea urchins. Our crew provides guidance so even beginners feel confident in the water.
Getting There
Where do I board the boat?
All trips depart from Puerto de Mogán, in the south of Gran Canaria — often called "the little Venice of the Canary Islands" for its canals and colourful houses. Our crew will be waiting at the boarding area to welcome you. Look for the Yellow Boat Mogan signage at the dock.
How early should I arrive?
We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before departure. This gives you time to check in, meet the crew, and get comfortably settled on board before we set off.
How do I get to Puerto de Mogán from the south of Gran Canaria?
Puerto de Mogán is located on the southwest coast of Gran Canaria, approximately 30 minutes by car from Maspalomas and Puerto Rico, and around 45 minutes from Las Palmas. There is parking available near the harbour. You can also reach Mogán by local bus (guagua) or by water taxi from Puerto Rico.
On Board
What should I bring?
Sunscreen, a towel, comfortable clothes, and swimwear if you plan to snorkel. Snorkeling equipment is provided — you don't need to bring your own.
Is food and drink included?
Yes! The Snorkeling Trip includes a Spanish lunch and an open bar on board. The Gourmet Tasting Experience includes a curated selection of Canarian wines and local food products during the dockside tasting. Both experiences are fully catered — no need to bring your own food or drinks.
Is it suitable for children?
Absolutely. Both trips are family-friendly and suitable for children. Our crew is experienced with guests of all ages and will ensure everyone feels safe, comfortable, and entertained on board. The snorkeling cove is calm and shallow, making it ideal for younger guests trying snorkeling for the first time.
Is the boat accessible for people with reduced mobility?
We do our best to accommodate guests with reduced mobility. Please contact us in advance via WhatsApp so our crew can make the necessary arrangements and ensure a comfortable experience for everyone.
Do I need to know how to swim to join the snorkeling trip?
Basic swimming ability is recommended for the snorkeling activity, but it is not mandatory to participate in the boat trip itself. Life jackets are available on board and our crew will always be present in the water to assist. If you're not comfortable swimming, you can still enjoy the coastal cruise and lunch on deck.
Weather & Cancellations
What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety always comes first at Yellow Boat Mogan. If sea conditions are not suitable for sailing, we will contact you as early as possible to offer a rescheduled date or a full refund. Gran Canaria enjoys over 300 sunny days per year, so weather cancellations are rare — but we are always prepared.
What is the best time of year to visit?
Gran Canaria has a mild, stable climate year-round, which makes it an ideal destination at any time. Sea temperatures are warmest between July and October, making summer ideal for snorkeling. However, even in winter the weather is pleasant and the water is comfortable. Yellow Boat Mogan operates throughout the year.
